Today we went on a picnic in the Sonoran Desert, exploring, looking for lizards. We saw three lizards and lots of huge Saguaro cacti. Niels even got attacked by one (a cactus, not a lizard); the Jumping Cholla, or "jumping cactus". Two of the lizards we saw are called Sonoran Spiny Lizards. The other one I have not been able to identify yet. We also attempted to explore the Gila River but there were too many No Trespassing signs and fences in our way. On the way home, we had to stop and pick a little bit of cotton. Those fields of cotton balls are just too tempting.
